November Fragrance Tray

I’ve been waiting for this colder weather for a long time. My reason is simple - I’ve been sick of my fresh scents and craving for something stronger, with more character. You know, a proper perfumes with some personality.

So yesterday I composed my little collection for this month, so called ˝My monthly tray˝. I do that since I own quite a lot of fragrances and like to have them in respectable rotation.

My selection for November contains slightly older releases and even classics because I am not really a fan of today’s mainstream fragrances and trends.

Estee Lauder – Sensuous (2008)

This one is very woody, spicy, and quite masculine. Slightly sweet and perfectly rounded. I wear it for work and it gives me that instant boost of confidence because it is a serious and mature fragrance. It can be heavy sometimes, but still polite enough to not to give me a headache. If you want something different, but still familiar enough and cosy, give it a try.

Emporio Armani – Lei (1998)

This is one of my favorite fragrances of all time, so it is always a part of my rotation. I would describe it as a creamy, powdery, cold vanilla hug. Does this even make a sense? Ok, it might not sound the best, but for me, it is a perfection. The vanilla here is different, typical for the 90s and not crazy sweet one like nowadays. The fragrance leans towards masculine side and the also make is more serious and put together.

Dior – Hypnotic Poison Roller Pearl (2019)

I don’t know how this one compares to the original cult classic, but I love it. To me it smells very gourmand but still grown up sweet vanilla almond. I find is very feminine and a big crowd pleaser. You can’t go wrong with this one. The roller ball version is lighter, so you have more control with you application which I like.

Bottega Veneta – Eau De Velours (2017)

Now let’s go to something completely different. I think this is the most serious fragrance I own and it even gives me slightly sad vibes. From some reason it represents a retro fall in a bottle. It smells like dry plums, mixed with roses and sealed with leather. It’s a masterpiece. Somehow I find it even sexy. Sad, but sexy. I believe this is discontinued, so I hope I will be able to find something similar one day.

Dolce&Gabanna – Pour Femme (2012)

Sweet stuff for the end. Honestly, this bottle is a part of my rotation now, because I need to finish it. It is old and has become super weak. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t like it anymore. On no! Pour Femme is girly and flirty and all the boys love her. Like literally, guys love this fragrance. It is very sweet. The combination of marshmallow, raspberry, and orange is just divine. It instantly makes me happy and cheers me up. I also need to try the Intense version of this, apparently it is even better. But of course, it is not available in our stores anymore. Time for an old-school blind buy?

Kenzo – Amour (2006)

Another staple from my collection. Rice pudding with vanilla and some exotic flowers. Very creamy, gorgeous, soft, but noticable. I still hate the bottle. It even took me a while before I wanted to ty it, because of the ugly bottle design. Sometimes it can be too heavy and I blame the musk for that. But generally speaking it is very comforting and familiar, so I would highly recommend it.

Relaxation before sleep – watching beauty YouTube channels

(taken from: Tati Westbrook Instagram)       Glam Life Guru - Tati Westbrook Tati from L.A. is my favorite ˝YouTuber˝. Her channel was first which I subscribed to and watched regularly. I found it by coincidence, when I was searching for… you know something. She posts videos every work day, so she is very involved in this YouTube thing, I would say it’s her primary occupation. She recently launched her makeup line, she collaborates with Amazon and some magazines.  I believe her reviews are honest, although things are often sent or given to her. Her descriptions, tests, comparisons and swatches of products are very good. Her videos look very professional. They are also very versatile, from testing the most ridiculously expensive products to the cheapest ones.   She mostly filmes in her (new) beauty room, once a week she’s testing how new makeup items perform during running errands. And those kinds of videos I like to watch the most. Recently her fiancé is also pretty involved i

Artdeco: Crystal and Amazing effect mascaras

Artdeco become my favorite ˝drugstore˝ brand. They have high quality products with good ingredients and their production in based in Germany. I think I got rid of all ˝Made in China˝ makeup and decided to avoid some brands in big circle. Quality over quantity – that is my motto for this year. I want to reduce the number of my makeup products and be a selective and not impulsive buyer. Anyway let me show you two of my recent purchases (there were quite a few) from Artdeco.  Crystal mascara&liner ˝Onyx Glamour˝ First I saw Crystal lash mascara top coat from Estee Lauder and got excited as kid, but that one is expensive and always sold out. Then I saw that Artdeco has something similar and could be a great and cheaper (half that price) dupe for Estee, but sadly I was wrong. This is transparent mascara/liner with black and silver shimmer. You could use it alone or as top coat over your favorite mascara to add some sparkle. The product looks great on lashes; it

Artdeco: Mission Ruby Rose eye palette review

The holiday season is a great time for companies to release their limited edition palettes that are very suitable for gifting or just treating yourself to something new… and sparkly. This little gem comes from Artdeco and has a very appealing name –  Mission Ruby Rose. It contains eight eye shadows: two mattes, two satin, and four metallics. The pigmentation varies from shade to shade, which is very usual for the brand. Their products can be either a hit or a miss. Metallics are highly pigmented and just stunning, but full of shimmer, so be prepared for that. Luckily that glitter did not fall all over my face, but it made me nervous during the day… Those shades would be perfect for glamorous looks. The same thing is with mattes, although they are not so ˝loud˝, but can be easily build up. They are very buttery and easy to blend. The satin ones were a disappointment. They provide just a hint of color and are too bright for my taste. Overall it is a solid drugstore palette to add some sp
