Guerlain: Terracotta Le Parfum

This season I finally got my hands on the iconic Terracotta Le Parfum by Guerlain. This is a summer classic. I mean each early spring, when I’m already on a hunt for something new for the summer, this is a very common suggestion to try. Many describe it as a tropical floral perfection or simply a tropical escape in a bottle. But is it really?

Let’s start with the official list of the notes:

TOP: Tiare Flower, Coconut, Bergamot

MIDDLE: Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Orange Blossom

BASE: Vanilla, Musk

It starts very fresh and loud with the straight domination of the Tiare Flower. Later on, it translates into creamy sweet Jasmine, rounded by some Musk. For me, that is all I get. Simple and sweet composition of creamy white flowers. No coconut, no depth, just easy and slightly classy florals.

I like it a lot, it is very uplifting and appropriate for many occasions but does not last long. So I mostly wear it in my free time, because you constantly need to reapply it. It is more like a refreshment. I mean it is gone after two to three hours (two sprays) which is simply ridiculous for the price and name. It should be called body spray and not Le Parfum. Not I get why it only comes in a 100ml bottle. And another thing, but that’s more personal – it gave me a horrible rash. I never got a rash from a fancy perfume house before.

The bottle itself is simple and pretty, but the cap could be made of better material. Does it deserve to be called a summer staple? No, there is many way cheaper alternatives.

Artdeco: Crystal and Amazing effect mascaras

Artdeco become my favorite ˝drugstore˝ brand. They have high quality products with good ingredients and their production in based in Germany. I think I got rid of all ˝Made in China˝ makeup and decided to avoid some brands in big circle. Quality over quantity – that is my motto for this year. Crystal mascara&liner ˝Onyx Glamour˝ First I saw Crystal lash mascara top coat from Estee Lauder and got excited as kid, but that one is expensive and always sold out. Then I saw that Artdeco has something similar and could be a great and cheaper (half that price) dupe for Estee, but sadly I was wrong. Artdeco: Mission Ruby Rose eye palette review

The holiday season is a great time for companies to release their limited edition palettes that are very suitable for gifting or just treating yourself to something new… and sparkly. This little gem comes from Artdeco and has a very appealing name – Mission Ruby Rose. It contains eight eye shadows: two mattes, two satin, and four metallics. The pigmentation varies from shade to shade, which is very usual for the brand. Their products can be either a hit or a miss. Metallics are highly pigmented and just stunning, but full of shimmer, so be prepared for that. Luckily that glitter did not fall all over my face, but it made me nervous during the day… Those shades would be perfect for glamorous looks.
