Lancome: Cleansers&Masks gift set

Ok, I never owned anything from Lancome before, not even a perfume sample. I hate most of their bestsellers, so I tend to avoid this brand. But then I read about their rose face mask and I somehow had weeks when I was obsessed with roses (probably lockdown blues), so I had to try this. And yes, I always complain that my skincare stuff is too big to carry around and neglect my face if I travel.

Cleansers & Masks Gift Set by Lancôme contains five skincare products:

  • Lait Lalatee Confort (cleansing milk) – 50ml
  • Tonique Confort (toner) – 50ml
  • Advanced Genifique Concentre (serum) – 7ml
  • Hydra Zen Gel Creme – 15ml
  • Hydra Zen Jelly Mask – 50ml

Cleansing milk – I find this one most useful for cleaning my eye makeup. It is very gentle to my eyes, but also effective enough. For removing a full face of makeup, it would not be enough, you would need an extra step. It has a very pleasant creamy/rosy smell, the whole set smell very similar basically, I enjoy it, but for some could be overwhelming. I don’t use these types of cleansers, so I won't buy the full size.

Toner – mild toner, leaves your skin feeling super fresh, but doesn’t dry it out. Maybe it’s more suitable for sensitive or dry skin, I like stronger toners for my oily T-zone, that’s why I’m not planning to buy it.

Serum – it comes in a very small amount, so I can’t talk about major changes or benefits on my skin. I use it when I feel the need to put something extra on my skin. Usually when my cheeks get dry or just to comfort my skin after a day on the sun. It is not very heavy, so it is suitable even for greasy skin, just use it in a small amount. Again, I will not repurchase this, I found serums much more suitable for my skin.

Gel crème – in the big sea of fancy moisturizers, I find this to be very pleasant and approved by my face. I use this as nigh-time cream because I don’t like the glow that it leaves. For a gel, it is quite rich, but not too heavy, and the scent that it leaves is just divine. I would buy this one in full size, I think the price is not that high in our country and it would make it a great winter night cream.

Mask – another love. This was the reason I bought the set in the first place. I use this once a week, usually during my bath, and just enjoy it a lot. It leaves my skin nicely hydrated and super soft. Again the smell of it is fantastic and gives me that luxurious spa feeling. I believe you can also use this as cream in a thin layer, but that is more appropriate for dry skin types. I would like to buy this again, maybe even their rose sugar face scrub from the same line.

CONCLUSION: This set is definitely worth its price and I would highly recommend it, especially if our skin is on the dryer side or as something richer for greasy types for wintertime. The gift box that comes with is not very nice, it looks very cheap for a gift, so that bothers me. If you buy it just for yourself, it’s not that problematic. I’m curious about Lancome skincare now, I would like to try more and some of their products have actually a normal price. So yes, treat yourself with this one for sure!

Yet another expensive list

Welcome to May! A brand new fresh month also means a great excuse to make yet another wish list of things that recently caught my attention. And this is also my birthday month, so I can splurge a bit more. No? Let’s start with something puffy and blue-  Pinko Quilted Nappa leather flat bag . This looks fancier than your usual everyday bag but can be totally worn on many occasions, even if you just go grocery shopping. Why not? Dark blue is gorgeous, very fashionable, and would pair nicely with a plain T-shirt and jeans or your favorite spring dress. Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Lumiere eye and cheek palette  – it is that time of the year again and Estee Lauder is out with another Bronze Goddess collection. This palette surprised me because it is not that warm and bronzy. I love that they also included cool-toned shades and that way it is more versatile. I don’t like the ˝cheek˝ part in the middle, I think it is not practical- I mean how can you reach it with a face brush? Anywa...

Artdeco: Crystal and Amazing effect mascaras

Artdeco become my favorite ˝drugstore˝ brand. They have high quality products with good ingredients and their production in based in Germany. I think I got rid of all ˝Made in China˝ makeup and decided to avoid some brands in big circle. Quality over quantity – that is my motto for this year. I want to reduce the number of my makeup products and be a selective and not impulsive buyer. Anyway let me show you two of my recent purchases (there were quite a few) from Artdeco.  Crystal mascara&liner ˝Onyx Glamour˝ First I saw Crystal lash mascara top coat from Estee Lauder and got excited as kid, but that one is expensive and always sold out. Then I saw that Artdeco has something similar and could be a great and cheaper (half that price) dupe for Estee, but sadly I was wrong. This is transparent mascara/liner with black and silver shimmer. You could use it alone or as top coat over your favorite mascara to add some sparkle. The product looks great on lashes;...

Relaxation before sleep – watching beauty YouTube channels

(taken from: Tati Westbrook Instagram)       Glam Life Guru - Tati Westbrook Tati from L.A. is my favorite ˝YouTuber˝. Her channel was first which I subscribed to and watched regularly. I found it by coincidence, when I was searching for… you know something. She posts videos every work day, so she is very involved in this YouTube thing, I would say it’s her primary occupation. She recently launched her makeup line, she collaborates with Amazon and some magazines.  I believe her reviews are honest, although things are often sent or given to her. Her descriptions, tests, comparisons and swatches of products are very good. Her videos look very professional. They are also very versatile, from testing the most ridiculously expensive products to the cheapest ones.   She mostly filmes in her (new) beauty room, once a week she’s testing how new makeup items perform during running errands. And those kinds of videos I like to watch the most. Recently her fia...
