Hope you had a great jump to 2019! I’m happy
that festive time is over; I mean it’s nice, but lasts too long. Anyway let’s
start a New Year in best possible way, with a book review. I bought this book a
month ago and reading it slowly through whole December. That doesn’t mean that
it was bad and didn’t ´pull me it´, but sometimes I like to take my time with
books.

My love story is story about really interesting
and fascinating life of Tina Turner
or Anna May if we call her by her birth name. Most of us of course know about
her rich music career and abusive marriage, but there so many things about her
that would impress and even surprise you. I won’t tell everything, let’s just
say she is lucky to be still alive. It is story
about love to life, new beginnings and winning battles.

I like Tina, but I’m not her true fan. I was
drawn to her story, because I like powerful and strong women who know what they
want and how to get it. She is inspiration to many generations. What also
fascinates me is fact that she stayed so vital, fit, fashionable and beautiful
for so long. She is a year younger than my grandmother and they definitely
don’t have much in common. Tina is great example where self-care and
self-awareness can take you. Ok some things are easier when you’re rich, but
not all.
Reading is interesting and inspiring, but
sometimes shallow and lacks some depth. For example, she writes about domestic
violence and serious health problems with too much ease. Maybe this is
intentional, because it was difficult for her to remember all the horrors from
her past. On the other hand, writing about her happy times is much more
detailed and profound. Well this is just my opinion; everybody experiences different
emotions while reading I guess. Don’t expect too many details, especially if
you’re a big fan. But there are some new details about her recent years, she
even writes about death of her son Craig. Anyway I would recommend this book to
anyone who needs some motivation in their life or is simply inspired by
interesting life stories.
