Book review: Tina Turner - My love story

Hope you had a great jump to 2019! I’m happy that festive time is over; I mean it’s nice, but lasts too long. Anyway let’s start a New Year in best possible way, with a book review. I bought this book a month ago and reading it slowly through whole December. That doesn’t mean that it was bad and didn’t ´pull me it´, but sometimes I like to take my time with books.

paperback, 320 pages, published on october 18, 2018

My love story is story about really interesting and fascinating life of Tina Turner or Anna May if we call her by her birth name. Most of us of course know about her rich music career and abusive marriage, but there so many things about her that would impress and even surprise you. I won’t tell everything, let’s just say she is lucky to be still alive. It is story about love to life, new beginnings and winning battles.

I like Tina, but I’m not her true fan. I was drawn to her story, because I like powerful and strong women who know what they want and how to get it. She is inspiration to many generations. What also fascinates me is fact that she stayed so vital, fit, fashionable and beautiful for so long. She is a year younger than my grandmother and they definitely don’t have much in common. Tina is great example where self-care and self-awareness can take you. Ok some things are easier when you’re rich, but not all.

Reading is interesting and inspiring, but sometimes shallow and lacks some depth. For example, she writes about domestic violence and serious health problems with too much ease. Maybe this is intentional, because it was difficult for her to remember all the horrors from her past. On the other hand, writing about her happy times is much more detailed and profound. Well this is just my opinion; everybody experiences different emotions while reading I guess. Don’t expect too many details, especially if you’re a big fan. But there are some new details about her recent years, she even writes about death of her son Craig. Anyway I would recommend this book to anyone who needs some motivation in their life or is simply inspired by interesting life stories.

Relaxation before sleep – watching beauty YouTube channels

(taken from: Tati Westbrook Instagram)       Glam Life Guru - Tati Westbrook Tati from L.A. is my favorite ˝YouTuber˝. Her channel was first which I subscribed to and watched regularly. I found it by coincidence, when I was searching for… you know something. She posts videos every work day, so she is very involved in this YouTube thing, I would say it’s her primary occupation. She recently launched her makeup line, she collaborates with Amazon and some magazines.  I believe her reviews are honest, although things are often sent or given to her. Her descriptions, tests, comparisons and swatches of products are very good. Her videos look very professional. They are also very versatile, from testing the most ridiculously expensive products to the cheapest ones.   She mostly filmes in her (new) beauty room, once a week she’s testing how new makeup items perform during running errands. And those kinds of videos I like to watch the most. Recently her fiancé is also pretty involved i

Artdeco: Crystal and Amazing effect mascaras

Artdeco become my favorite ˝drugstore˝ brand. They have high quality products with good ingredients and their production in based in Germany. I think I got rid of all ˝Made in China˝ makeup and decided to avoid some brands in big circle. Quality over quantity – that is my motto for this year. I want to reduce the number of my makeup products and be a selective and not impulsive buyer. Anyway let me show you two of my recent purchases (there were quite a few) from Artdeco.  Crystal mascara&liner ˝Onyx Glamour˝ First I saw Crystal lash mascara top coat from Estee Lauder and got excited as kid, but that one is expensive and always sold out. Then I saw that Artdeco has something similar and could be a great and cheaper (half that price) dupe for Estee, but sadly I was wrong. This is transparent mascara/liner with black and silver shimmer. You could use it alone or as top coat over your favorite mascara to add some sparkle. The product looks great on lashes; it

Artdeco: Mission Ruby Rose eye palette review

The holiday season is a great time for companies to release their limited edition palettes that are very suitable for gifting or just treating yourself to something new… and sparkly. This little gem comes from Artdeco and has a very appealing name –  Mission Ruby Rose. It contains eight eye shadows: two mattes, two satin, and four metallics. The pigmentation varies from shade to shade, which is very usual for the brand. Their products can be either a hit or a miss. Metallics are highly pigmented and just stunning, but full of shimmer, so be prepared for that. Luckily that glitter did not fall all over my face, but it made me nervous during the day… Those shades would be perfect for glamorous looks. The same thing is with mattes, although they are not so ˝loud˝, but can be easily build up. They are very buttery and easy to blend. The satin ones were a disappointment. They provide just a hint of color and are too bright for my taste. Overall it is a solid drugstore palette to add some sp
