I'm a huge fan of everything sparkling. When I see shiny things, I’m
like a kid in a candy store. They are like magnet to my eyes. Sparkling things
in makeup can be scary and over the top. I mean they look gorgeous, but can be
wearable? Truly wearable for daily use? Yes they can!
Holographic trend has been strongly present in fashion and beauty
industry for some time now. I lately spot it mostly on accessories and all
ranges of makeup. It’s not just for teenage girls anymore, we also see it in
makeup for ˝grown up’s˝.
I recently bought two holographic makeup items. First one was truly love
at first sight; I bought it immediately when I saw it. My dreams finally came
true, they made lavender highlighter! This is actually highlighting duo from Makeup factory named ˝Holographic illusion powder˝ and was
part of holiday collection presented back in December. It might be made for
holidays, but also for soft spring looks.
It contains violet (lilac dimension)
and pink (dazzling pink) shades. I like to wear it on my eyes with matte
natural eyeshadows, or on cheeks for a touch of sparkle and color. These two
are real and strong highlighters, so you need to be careful with application. They
may look boring in the pan, but under different lightening became very much
alive. I like both shades, but lavender one is my favorite. They are very smooth,
without chunky glitter and easy to blend.
The second item it lip gloss and comes from Artdeco. OFF TOPIC: Did you know that Makeup factory is ˝little˝ sister
brand from Artdeco? This was also a part of holiday/new year collection. I was
scared of if, and made some research on the web before purchasing. Pictures of
swatches were so confusing, I wasn’t sure if I could wear this. When it comes
to colors, I’m quite shy person, well except with nail polishes. Anyway I
decided to buy it. This shade is in some kind of nude, slightly orange, clear gloss with
holographic glitter.
So I bought ˝Holo lip gloss˝ number 6 called ˝Glittery dream˝. I found this to me the most ˝natural˝, but still
very shiny looking. It is actually the only lip gloss I own, because I’m not a
fan of shiny lips. I still don’t know why I like this so much and I always feel
slightly uncomfortable when I leave the house wearing it, but then I forget
what’s on me anyway… It instantly brightens your face, especially now during
winter, when we can look a bit dull and colorless. I found it to be quite
sticky which bothers me, but is very comfortable and moisturizing on lips. I
was pleasantly surprised how long lasting it is. You could easily pull this off
as an everyday gloss as long as you keep other makeup on minimum and in natural
shades. This gloss is fun, but not over the top.
