Artdeco: Crystal and Amazing effect mascaras

Artdeco become my favorite ˝drugstore˝ brand. They have high quality products with good ingredients and their production in based in Germany. I think I got rid of all ˝Made in China˝ makeup and decided to avoid some brands in big circle. Quality over quantity – that is my motto for this year. I want to reduce the number of my makeup products and be a selective and not impulsive buyer. Anyway let me show you two of my recent purchases (there were quite a few) from Artdeco.

Crystal mascara&liner ˝Onyx Glamour˝
First I saw Crystal lash mascara top coat from Estee Lauder and got excited as kid, but that one is expensive and always sold out. Then I saw that Artdeco has something similar and could be a great and cheaper (half that price) dupe for Estee, but sadly I was wrong.

This is transparent mascara/liner with black and silver shimmer. You could use it alone or as top coat over your favorite mascara to add some sparkle. The product looks great on lashes; it gives nice and not overly glittery effect and adds a bit of volume. Sparkle parts are only visible from some angles, so this is not over the top shiny. But this product doesn’t want to dry, it just stays wet for a long time and that causes major glitter fallout. I was afraid something would fall into my eyes, so I stopped using it and trying to make it work. Such a disappointment, I was really excited about this product. I also used it as liner and the same thing happened. I hate this wand, but it still somehow works as it’s just piece of swirled plastic with some short bristles on the opposite side if you want to use this as liner. This crystal mascara/liner is part of collection for holiday 2017 called ˝The art of beauty˝. The same product was presented the year before and reviewers had the same problems as I do, so it’s a shame that they couldn’t make an improvement within a year.

Amazing effect mascara
This became my favorite. It gives such a natural effect, soft volume and some length. Nothing spectacular, but it creates the look that I’m going for – mine lashes, but bolder and better. I hate when you can tell from far that someone is wearing mascara. This is crazy, because one day I would like to try to wear false lashes.

I like that it has small, rubber brush, so you can apply it very precisely. I’m often afraid of giant brushes and that huge packaging. This is slim and elegant, easy to carry in you makeup bag. It doesn’t smudge or irritate my sensitive eyes. I can easily remove it with my wipes. It rarely creates any clumps if any. I usually remove that with clean, old mascara brush – problem solved. It is one of the cheapest mascaras from Artdeco what is also a plus.

Relaxation before sleep – watching beauty YouTube channels

(taken from: Tati Westbrook Instagram)       Glam Life Guru - Tati Westbrook Tati from L.A. is my favorite ˝YouTuber˝. Her channel was first which I subscribed to and watched regularly. I found it by coincidence, when I was searching for… you know something. She posts videos every work day, so she is very involved in this YouTube thing, I would say it’s her primary occupation. She recently launched her makeup line, she collaborates with Amazon and some magazines.  I believe her reviews are honest, although things are often sent or given to her. Her descriptions, tests, comparisons and swatches of products are very good. Her videos look very professional. They are also very versatile, from testing the most ridiculously expensive products to the cheapest ones.   She mostly filmes in her (new) beauty room, once a week she’s testing how new makeup items perform during running errands. And those kinds of videos I like to watch the most. Recently her fiancé is also pretty involved i

Artdeco: Mission Ruby Rose eye palette review

The holiday season is a great time for companies to release their limited edition palettes that are very suitable for gifting or just treating yourself to something new… and sparkly. This little gem comes from Artdeco and has a very appealing name –  Mission Ruby Rose. It contains eight eye shadows: two mattes, two satin, and four metallics. The pigmentation varies from shade to shade, which is very usual for the brand. Their products can be either a hit or a miss. Metallics are highly pigmented and just stunning, but full of shimmer, so be prepared for that. Luckily that glitter did not fall all over my face, but it made me nervous during the day… Those shades would be perfect for glamorous looks. The same thing is with mattes, although they are not so ˝loud˝, but can be easily build up. They are very buttery and easy to blend. The satin ones were a disappointment. They provide just a hint of color and are too bright for my taste. Overall it is a solid drugstore palette to add some sp
