Relaxation before sleep – watching beauty YouTube channels

Glam Life Guru - Tati Westbrook
Tati from L.A. is my favorite ˝YouTuber˝. Her channel was first which I subscribed to and watched regularly. I found it by coincidence, when I was searching for… you know something. She posts videos every work day, so she is very involved in this YouTube thing, I would say it’s her primary occupation. She recently launched her makeup line, she collaborates with Amazon and some magazines.  I believe her reviews are honest, although things are often sent or given to her. Her descriptions, tests, comparisons and swatches of products are very good. Her videos look very professional. They are also very versatile, from testing the most ridiculously expensive products to the cheapest ones.   She mostly filmes in her (new) beauty room, once a week she’s testing how new makeup items perform during running errands. And those kinds of videos I like to watch the most. Recently her fiancé is also pretty involved in her videos, what doesn’t bother me, it can be cute. Her makeup collection is huge, so she often finds cheaper dupes and can easily tell what product are good and what doesn’t work. Shortly – she know what she’s doing, because she was a makeup artist. The only thing I miss on her channel are fragrance reviews.

A model recommends – Ruth Crilly
Ruth lives in suburban London.  She’s a former model (but still not completely retired), famous for her gap between her front teeth.  I know her channel for two years and I must admit, that her videos were better before she had her baby. OK I get it, she wants to spet time with her little Angelica, but baby often distracts her when she’s doing reviews. And that bothers me – sorry Ruth. I like when she does vlogs, those are often not beauty related (babies are allowed to be there :)). Ruth prefers high end products and brands like Chanel and Dior. It’s ok to watch that kind of reviews, because later I’m not tempted to buy something from what she presented. Her describing is decent, she’ s sometimes a bit confused, but I guess that makes her special. She also has her own range of dry shampoos, collaborates with some websites and writes a great blog.

JAMbeauty89 – Jessica Braun
Jessica Braun is a 5th grade teacher in elementary school from Indiana, USA. She does YouTube videos as a hobby, but I wouldn’t call her unprofessional, far from that. She really does her best, despite her lack of time. I found her channel about two years ago I think. She reminds me a lot on one of my closest friends who is also a teacher. Her main topics are drugstore products, sometimes she splurges on some high end items. Her channel is not so popular as the two mentioned before, but slowly, she’s getting more known as beauty ˝YouTuber˝. She loves everything connected with Disney. Her husband Taylor runs a YouTube channel about travel, occasionally they make collaborations and lots of vlogging, what I especially love. Jessica is very good at describing products, but sometimes talks too fast – it’s a teacher thing, I think. Again I miss fragrance reviews. It seems like all ˝my ladies˝ are focused only on makeup and skincare.  I’ll have to find someone specialized in fragrances.

RachhLoves - Rachel
Rachel is stay home mom of two from Canada. I found her channel last year when she was doing  a video with Tati. She is very dynamic, likes to use different face expressions and sometimes I get a feeling she is trying too hard. I like her energy, but her videos can be stuff with visual and sound effects, what I find disturbing. This kind of editing makes videos more interesting, I agree, but sometimes there’s too much of everything. Anyway, her reviews seem to be partly honest – I’m sorry Rachel. When she does sponsored video, it can be very obvious. Maybe I’m wrong, but I got that kind of impression. She’s good at testing a mix of drugstore and high end products.  And what I really like about her? She is very positive person and gives great advices. Occasionally she is trying out things that are not related to beauty, like different Pintrest hacks, recipes. A few years ago, she was doing fashion makeovers on television. I like her earlier videos more, because she was more herself and not pretending so much.

Artdeco: Crystal and Amazing effect mascaras

Artdeco become my favorite ˝drugstore˝ brand. They have high quality products with good ingredients and their production in based in Germany. I think I got rid of all ˝Made in China˝ makeup and decided to avoid some brands in big circle. Quality over quantity – that is my motto for this year. I want to reduce the number of my makeup products and be a selective and not impulsive buyer. Anyway let me show you two of my recent purchases (there were quite a few) from Artdeco.  Crystal mascara&liner ˝Onyx Glamour˝ First I saw Crystal lash mascara top coat from Estee Lauder and got excited as kid, but that one is expensive and always sold out. Then I saw that Artdeco has something similar and could be a great and cheaper (half that price) dupe for Estee, but sadly I was wrong. This is transparent mascara/liner with black and silver shimmer. You could use it alone or as top coat over your favorite mascara to add some sparkle. The product looks great on lashes; it

Artdeco: Mission Ruby Rose eye palette review

The holiday season is a great time for companies to release their limited edition palettes that are very suitable for gifting or just treating yourself to something new… and sparkly. This little gem comes from Artdeco and has a very appealing name –  Mission Ruby Rose. It contains eight eye shadows: two mattes, two satin, and four metallics. The pigmentation varies from shade to shade, which is very usual for the brand. Their products can be either a hit or a miss. Metallics are highly pigmented and just stunning, but full of shimmer, so be prepared for that. Luckily that glitter did not fall all over my face, but it made me nervous during the day… Those shades would be perfect for glamorous looks. The same thing is with mattes, although they are not so ˝loud˝, but can be easily build up. They are very buttery and easy to blend. The satin ones were a disappointment. They provide just a hint of color and are too bright for my taste. Overall it is a solid drugstore palette to add some sp
