YSL Loveshine Candy Glow Balm 10b Lavender Blaze review

The trend of lavender shades in makeup is apparently still going strong this spring and I don’t mind that at all. I’ve been obsessed with lilac highlighters for years, but that’s the story for another time. Lavender on the lips can be tricky. It can easily be too much and you’re looking half dead or at least frozen, if you know what I mean. But if it’s done right, it can be your new favorite. YSL Loveshine Candy Glow Balm in the shade 10b Lavender Blaze caught my attention immediately. I was on a hunt for a cool toned , sheer, easy to wear lippie that would give just that little something extra to my face . This balm is very comfortable on the lips. It is hydrating, but not heavy or greasy. It is also not sticky, which is very important to me, because I hate that. It smoothes the lips a bit and tastes and smells like watermelon (think about Hubba Bubba's from your childhood). The finish is very shiny, the color is sheer but buildable to some point. I love this shade on me , I ...

November Fragrance Tray

I’ve been waiting for this colder weather for a long time. My reason is simple - I’ve been sick of my fresh scents and craving for something stronger, with more character . You know, a proper perfumes with some personality.   So yesterday I composed my little collection for this month, so called ˝My monthly tray˝. I do that since I own quite a lot of fragrances and like to have them in respectable rotation. My selection for November contains slightly older releases and even classics because I am not really a fan of today’s mainstream fragrances and trends. Estee Lauder – Sensuous (2008) This one is very woody, spicy, and quite masculine. Slightly sweet and perfectly rounded. I wear it for work and it gives me that instant boost of confidence because it is a serious and mature fragrance. It can be heavy sometimes, but still polite enough to not to give me a headache. If you want something different , but still familiar enough and cosy, give it a try. Emporio Armani –...

Lego: Bouquet of Roses - Botanical Collection

It was Sunday after lunch and I enthusiastically concluded that it was the right time to open my new set of Legos. The box waited for me for three weeks now and I was ready. Because when you are an adult, and you know exactly how much you paid for your Lego set, you want the timing for your ˝play˝ to be just perfect. Bouquet of Roses  was released was released in February, just in time for Valentine’s Day. It captured my attention immediately. I always look at Legos also from that practical site of aesthetics. Does this look good? Is it something I can keep on my shelf as decoration? Will it only look like clutter? You get the point. So yes, these roses looked lovely and I bought them for myself.  This set includes 822 pieces, arranged into 6 packs. The whole building ¨process¨ is divided into three parts. At the end you'll get 12 Roses (3 different types) and 4 branches of Baby's Breath. I believe it took me three hours of slow building and just chilling with some old music i...

Spring cravings

At first glance, this list might look humble and budget-friendly, but believe me, it is not. Trips to the drugstores are usually expensive and our desires just don’t know how to settle where there are so many new things all the time. Especially with the arrival of the new season. How should we even call this list? Spring wishes? Easter treats? Let’s go to the business! I never had a lot of luck with Melvita’s products, but a few months ago I got a tester of their apparently famous rose water and I loved it. It was so refreshing, calming and smelled very nice.  Source de Roses – Extraordinary water  is their version of hyaluronic gel enriched with rose water. I am a huge fan of hyaluronic serums, so this might be for me. As long as it is not sticky. I hate sticky gels. So if this is something like Mineral 89 with the addition of that gorgeous rosy smell – I’m sold! After being a religious user of Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm from Clinique for years, I think it is time for a ...

Guerlain: Terracotta Le Parfum

This season I finally got my hands on the iconic  Terracotta Le Parfum by Guerlain . This is a summer classic. I mean each early spring, when I’m already on a hunt for something new for the summer, this is a very common suggestion to try. Many describe it as a tropical floral perfection or simply a tropical escape in a bottle. But is it really? Let’s start with the official list of the notes: TOP: Tiare Flower, Coconut, Bergamot MIDDLE: Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Orange Blossom BASE: Vanilla, Musk It starts very fresh and loud with the straight domination of the Tiare Flower. Later on, it translates into creamy sweet Jasmine, rounded by some Musk. For me, that is all I get. Simple and sweet composition of creamy white flowers. No coconut, no depth, just easy and slightly classy florals. I like it a lot, it is very uplifting and appropriate for many occasions but does not last long. So I mostly wear it in my free time, because you constantly need to reapply it. It is more like a refreshm...

Dior Solar The After- Sun Balm

I’ve been really into body products and body care in general lately. Not entirely sure how this happened, but my vanity is now full of body oils, self-tanners, and scented creams. I just want to try everything at once. So a fancy version of after the sun balm was my next logical step to take, especially because I discovered it around my birthday. Dior Solar The After-Sun Balm  is a part of the skincare and sun protection line from the house of Dior. And if I’m not mistaken it is relaunched and updated every spring. The line currently includes several products for sun protection, self-tanner and already mentioned after-sun balm. For me, this is summer in a tube. It smells heavenly, very similar to Guerlain’s Terracotta perfume. This scent is a bit more refined and not as sweet, but very close to that one. It is not overpowering and does not last very long. The balm itself is quite rich and refreshing at the same time. It is light, but still nourishing enough. It absorbs quickly and ...
